Institutional Cooperation Plan Between Iwate University and Department of Archaeology Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM

Yogyakarta, Thursday, November 28th, 2024. Faculty of Cultural Sciences Universitas Gadjah Mada through the Department of Archaeology UGM received a visit from Iwate University, Japan. The agenda of the visit is part of the exploration of cooperation plans between Iwate University and the UGM Department of Archaeology to discuss potential plans for educational visits next year at Gadjah Mada University, for Iwate University students. On this occasion, the Head of the UGM Department of Archaeology, Dr. Mahirta, MA, along with the Secretary of the Department, Drs. Musadad, M.Hum., and Archaeology UGM study programme lecturer, Dwi Pradnyawan, S.S., M.A., met with representatives from Iwate University, Anders Carlqvist, Associate Professor of Iwate University International Education Center and Hiroya Yaegashi from Chief Administrative Staff, Iwate University International Office, to discuss the possibility of giving lectures on archaeology to Iwate University students as part of the educational visit.

After the discussion session ended, the group of Iwate University and the UGM Department of Archaeology took a group photo. They were also invited to tour Mandala Majapahit, a small museum located inside the laboratory of Margono Building, to see a number of artifact replica collections available. From this exploration of cooperation, it is expected to improve the quality of education for the UGM Department of Archaeology and Iwate University, in supporting cooperation in the field of quality and sustainable education.

Tim dosen Antropologi Udayana Denpasar Bali  dibawah pimpinan Ibu Aliffiati,MSi. selaku Kepala Program Studi Antropologi Budaya, pada Senin 18 November 2024 melakukan benchmarking ke Departemen Antropologi, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Kunjungan tersebut dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui implementasi SDGs dalam pelaksanaan riset  yang dilakukan dosen maupun mahasiswa. Tim Udayana juga berkunjung  ke Laboratorium untuk Riset dan Aksi (LAURA) Departemen Antropologi untuk belajar dan berdiskusi terkait dengan manajemen riset yang telah dilakukan. Dari Departemen Antropologi, FIB, UGM mereka disambut oleh Dr. Atik Triratnawati, M.A. dan Dr. Muhammad Zamzam Fauzanafi, M.A.

Kaprodi Antropologi Budaya, Dr. Atik Triratnawati, M.A., menjelaskan berbagai skema penelitian kolaborasi yang dilakukan dosen serta kewajiban mengaitkan riset mereka dengan tujuan SDGs. Sementara itu, Dr. Muh. Zamzam Faunafi, M.A. selaku ketua LAURA menjelaskan mengenai aplikasi Titen sebagai manajemen data dan analisa riset yang telah dipakai oleh dosen maupun mahasiswa Antropologi sejak tahun 2023. Lewat aplikasi Titen ini diharapkan semua mahasiswa Antropologi mampu mengaplikasikan ke dalam manajemen  risetnya. Selain itu, aplikasi Titen juga sudah dimanfaatkan oleh  mitra-mitra riset LAURA. Ke depan diharapkan aplikasi Titen bisa diadopsi seluruh mahasiswa UGM dan berlanjut ke mahasiswa luar negeri yang memiliki kerjasama dengan Departemen Antropologi UGM.

Faculty of Cultural Sciences Wins Line Dance Competition in the UGM 75th Anniversary

Yogyakarta, Friday, October 25th, 2024. Line Dance Team of Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM has won the 1st Champion Award in the Line Dance Competition between Faculties/Schools and Work Units in the 75th Anniversary / 15th Lustrum of Universitas Gadjah Mada Beginner Category. This competition was organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada by inviting all faculties and work units to participate in enlivening the 75th Anniversary / 15th Lustrum of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The UGM Faculty of Arts team consists of a number of educators and lecturers of UGM Faculty of Arts, namely Mimi Savitri, M.A., Ph.D., Dr. Suzie Handajani, M.A., Dr. Wiwik Retno Handayani, S.S., M.Hum., Mubarika Dyah Fitri Nugraheni, S.Ant., M.A., Erika Purnawati, S.Kom, M.Cs., Vinanti Rahayu, A.Md., and Veronica Kurnia Wulandari, S.S., M.A., with Swety Firmanti, S.Sos. in charge. The competition was held in Auditorium drh. R. Soepardjo, Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada at 12.30 pm to 16.00 pm.

Previously, the team had practiced intensively for one week by designing special choreography from the song that had been determined. During the competition, the activity began with remarks from the Secretary of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, SH, LLM. Dr. Andi Sandi explained that this competition was not only a competition, but also a means to meet and strengthen relationships between faculties-schools and work units, considering that meetings are usually held only during formal moments. The Line Dance competition held by Universitas Gadjah Mada as a sport is a place to continue to the national competition stage.

Focus Group Discussion on External Communication Guidelines

Yogyakarta, Thursday, November 14th, 2024. In order to strengthen the public relations function at Universitas Gadjah Mada, the UGM University Secretariat held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) related to External Communication Guidelines held in Multimedia Room 1, 3rd Floor, North Wing, UGM Central Building. This activity was held at 09.30 WIB to 12.15 WIB, inviting a number of representatives of public relations staff, offices, and work units within the Faculty of Arts UGM. As presenters of External Communication material, Winda Pratiwi, Farchan Noor Rachman, and Mohamad Ryan Saputra, became the speakers of the activity.

The activity began with the first presentation by Winda Mizwar Pratiwi related to the organizational structure mind mapping journey and communication mapping to various stakeholders in the work unit environment at UGM. In this session, Winda explained the importance of feedback and setting appropriate responses to reduce miscommunication. The way our communication works at this time includes: Data Collection, Knowledge Sharing, SOP Guidelines, and Internalization of SOP / Guidelines.

The next session was presented by Mohamad Ryan Saputra regarding the analysis of stakeholder interest levels consisting of:

Level 1: High Interest, High Involvement
Level 2: High Interest, Low Involvement
Level 3: Low Interest, High Involvement
Level 4 Low Interest, Low Involvement
Each interest has a communication strategy, communication channel preferences, main activities, and communication channeling rules that must be considered. It aims to closely monitor communication activities to the public and public relations decision makers.

After the presentation of external communication guidelines by Ryan Saputra, Farchan Noor Rachman continued the presentation of media communication guidelines regarding the role of spokespersons in delivering communication to the public, criteria as well as Do’s and Don’ts of spokespersons, and the flow of information publication. He also added that technical forms of publication and dissemination of information related to UGM in print and digital must be in accordance with the established UGM brand guidelines.

Japanese Language and Culture Study Program Organizes Guest Lecture with PT Rupa Raya Indonesia

On Friday, September 27, 2024, the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program welcomed guests from PT Rupa Raya and Marumori Company Co., Ltd. Both companies are companies engaged in architectural design of Japanese houses.

PT. Rupa Raya is an Indonesian company founded by Bustanil Yasir in 2022 in Makassar. Although it is an Indonesian company, PT. Rupa Raya is a company that works in the field of Japanese architectural design. Therefore, 100% of the clients of PT Rupa Raya are from Japan. In running the business. PT Rupa Raya cooperates with a company that works in the same field, namely Marumori Company Co., Ltd. Marumori Company acts as an intermediary and ’employer’ for PT Rupa Raya.

PT Rupa Raya, represented by CEO Bustanil Yasir, opened the presentation by introducing the company’s vision and mission to the Japanese Language and Culture lecturers and students present. Then, CEO Bustanil Yasir also explained the flow of work at PT Rupa Raya. Design work is carried out after receiving a house design from Muromari Company. Based on the design, PT Rupa Raya will then produce 2D, 3D, and designs that can be seen using VR (Virtual Reality) technology. On this occasion, PT Rupa Raya also introduced the internship program to the participants.

After the presentation, the activity then continued with a question and answer session about job openings because the arrival of PT. Rupa Raya was also to inform the opening of vacancies that opened on November 1, 2024 related to the opening of their branch in Semarang. After that, various other questions were also asked by the participants. The activity then ended with a group photo.
