Sabik Hikami, a student of Arabic Literature at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has shown outstanding achievements in the field of Arabic scientific essays. On October 09, 2024, Sabik won second place in the scientific essay competition at the Arab Literature Festival (FESTRAB) event. This achievement is a clear proof of his dedication and hard work in mastering Arabic language and literature.

FESTRAB is a prestigious event organized by UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. This event is held online and attended by participants from various universities in ASEAN. The scientific essay competition is one of the most awaited competitions in this event, because it requires in-depth analysis and good writing skills from the participants. Sabik’s success in winning second place shows that he is able to compete with other participants from various well-known universities in ASEAN.

Sabik Hikami, with his expertise in Arabic language and literature as well as his ability to write scientific essays, made a proud achievement. His essay titled “Islamic Intervention in the Canonization of Arabic Literature” was considered to have in-depth analysis and good writing, earning him second place in the competition. The essay discusses how Islam plays a role in the canonization process of Arabic literature, a complex topic that requires a deep understanding of Arabic history and culture as well as finding a paradigm between Islam and its canonization in Arabic literature.

This achievement not only shows Sabik’s dedication and hard work in the field of Arabic literature, but also proves that Arabic Literature students of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM are able to compete and show achievements at the ASEAN level. Sabik’s success is expected to inspire other students to continue to excel and make the university proud.

In addition, Sabik’s achievement also shows the importance of support from the university in developing student potential. The Faculty of Humanities UGM has provided great support for students to participate in various competitions and develop their abilities. This support is very important in helping students achieve proud achievements.

Sabik’s success in winning second place in the scientific essay competition at FESTRAB also shows that Arabic language and literature still have a strong appeal to the younger generation. Arabic is not only the language of religion, but also the language of science and rich culture. By mastering Arabic, students can understand more about Arab history, culture and civilization, and contribute to the development of science.

Sabik Hikami’s achievement is expected to be a motivation for other students to continue learning and achieving. With hard work and dedication, every student has the potential to achieve proud achievements and make the university proud. Hopefully Sabik’s achievements can inspire the younger generation to continue to excel and contribute to the development of science and culture.
