On September 15, 2026, SMA Islam Sinar Cendekia Tangerang visited the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) UGM as part of their study tour program. A total of 88 students, accompanied by their teachers, enthusiastically attended the event to gain a closer look at campus life and the academic environment at UGM.

The event began with opening remarks from the Principal of SMA Islam Sinar Cendekia Tangerang, who motivated the students to make the most of this opportunity to achieve their dream university. “Therefore, gather as much information as possible from today’s meeting,” the Principal advised.

The program continued with a presentation and discussion session led by Salsa from the FIB UGM Public Relations team. During the session, the students actively inquired about the admissions process, including specific requirements for the merit-based track (jalur prestasi). Aside from admission pathways, career prospects for humanities and literature graduates were a primary concern for the students.

Addressing these questions, student representatives Candra and Mayla explained that career opportunities for FIB UGM graduates are broad and adaptable. Given the strong foundation in literature and writing, graduates have great potential in the creative industries—such as becoming writers or editors—as well as opportunities in government institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).

Through this visit, the students of SMA Islam Sinar Cendekia Tangerang are expected to gain a clearer understanding of academic life at FIB UGM and feel inspired to pursue their higher education goals.

On 8 September 2026, SMAN 1 Teras Boyolali visited the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) UGM as part of a Campus Tour for 11th-grade students. Around 150 students attended the visit, which took place from 09.00 to 10.00 WIB at the Poerbatjaraka Auditorium.

The event began with welcoming remarks from the Principal of SMAN 1 Teras Boyolali. He encouraged his students to actively ask questions while they had the chance to visit FIB UGM. “Come on, ask plenty of questions later while we are at UGM; when else will we get this opportunity,” he said.

Swety, representing the Public Relations team, presented the study programs available at FIB, which comprise 22 programs in total, including 11 undergraduate programs that high school students can choose in the future.

The event then proceeded to an interactive Q&A session. Three female students from SMAN 1 Teras Boyolali eagerly took the opportunity to engage directly with the speaker. They raised several insightful questions, ranging from scholarship availability and opportunities at UGM, various admission tracks, to the acceptance rate and competition percentage for admission to FIB UGM. Furthermore, they also explored information regarding career prospects and job opportunities for FIB UGM graduates in the future.

The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed an educational visit from SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar on Tuesday (1/9/2026). Held at the Poerbatjaraka Auditorium from 09:00 to 10:00 WIB, the event was attended by approximately 250 12th-grade students who enthusiastically got to know the campus environment up close.

The session opened with a presentation by FIB UGM Public Relations representative, Swety. She provided an overview of UGM as well as the various study programs available at FIB UGM. To add to the excitement, the presentation included an interactive quiz, with top-scoring participants receiving attractive souvenirs.

The Q&A session turned out to be the most interactive moment. Several students asked insightful questions, ranging from how to become a tutor in the Indonesian Language and Culture Learning Service (INCULS) program to scholarship pathways at UGM.

Responding to these inquiries, FIB UGM Public Relations representative, Yazid, explained that UGM provides various forms of financial aid. Scholarship opportunities stem not only from within the university but also from government and private partner institutions.

This visit is expected to broaden the horizons of SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar students regarding university life while motivating them to seize various academic opportunities at Universitas Gadjah Mada.

On Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, Pusat Bahasa at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada welcomed a group of enthusiastic students from Pondok Modern Selamat 3 Batam who were keen on enhancing their English skills. The visitation took place in the Language Laboratory room 616, Soegondo Building, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada where students were introduced to a world of English language learning opportunities. As a result, this visitation opened a new horizon for the students of Pondok Modern Selamat 3 Batam to gain knowledge on how to learn English and what English tests available at university scope, which further sparks their learning interest.

Accompanied by their teachers, 15 students from Pondok Modern Selamat 3 Batam embarked on this educational journey, absorbing insights shared by a Pusat Bahasa staff member. They listened attentively to the detailed information about the importance of learning English, services offered at Pusat Bahasa, and units at Pusat Bahasa that can assist them in engaging with foreign languages.

During the interactive Q&A session, the students showed great interest in learning about the importance of English proficiency and the various services provided by Pusat Bahasa. Furthermore, the students eagerly participated by raising their hands and asking questions during the question and answer session. Some students questioned the difference between English tests such as AcEPT, TOEFL, and IELTS while others expressed their interest in taking English tests to assist them in enrolling at their dream universities. With detailed responses to their questions given by the speaker, the students were able to obtain valuable information and direction on which test they should take based on their specific goals.

All in all, this visitation not only familiarized the students of Pondok Modern Selamat 3 Batam with Pusat Bahasa but also equipped them with valuable insights into English language tests and foreign language learning, empowering them for their future endeavours.

Nine students from the Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have successfully implemented a teaching program for students at SMA Negeri 1 Seyegan. This teaching program is a collaboration with the principal of SMA Negeri 1 Seyegan, as a joint effort to preserve Javanese culture, particularly the use of Javanese script. The program was held from December 12 to 21, 2023, and concluded with a competition on December 22, 2023.

Nine students from the Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture Study Program participated in this program. They are Sindi Virninda, Nanda Nursa Alya, Rafael Raga B.P., Faradila Putri M., Ahmad Nur Astha, Enjang Prasetyo W., Fazi Arifian Pradara, Novita Nurhasanah, and Inayah Milati. The teaching was conducted using creative methods, with the hope that students could understand Javanese script comprehensively.

Nanda Nursa Alya, one of the teaching participants, expressed her joy in an interview, “It was very exciting because we were able to interact with the students.” Nanda explained that this program not only benefits students but also develops their skills of students, “This program trains us as students to be able to become teachers as well as friends for the students. In addition, this program also demands the creativity of students in creating good and enjoyable learning methods and media for students.”

With the implementation of this teaching program, Nanda hopes that the activity can be carried out every year. “I hope this program will always be there every year,” she said. This teaching program is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially the fourth point, Quality Education, which aims to improve the quality of education.
