The Family of Muslim Cultural Sciences Students (KMIB) is the Islamic spiritual group of the faculty. It was first known as KMS (Literature Muslim Family), an integral student organization like the student body. The name then changed to KMIS (Family of Muslim Literature Students), and later to KMIB (Family of Muslim Cultural Sciences Students). As the faculty’s dakwah organization, KMIB holds activities meant to accommodate Muslim interests at the FCS. The Islamic Culture Festival was the KMIB’s key program, running until 2008. There is also Ramadan in the Village, which continues to be held. The KMIB works with the takmir of Al-Adab Musholla to maintain and operate the musholla.
Our semi-autonomous body’s motto is Unlimited Totality for Islam.

KMIB consists of six divisions to ease the implementation of its work programs:
1. Secretariat and Domestic Affairs: The Secretarial Division, Its work programs involve administrative and organizational paperwork and organizational archives of documents.
2. Funding: A division under the treasurer. This division is actively involved in the organization’s finances. Its activities include operating the KMIB Stall.
3. Human Resource Development, also known as the Cadre Bureau. It is tasked with recruitment and membership drives for KMIB. Its programs include Leadership Camps (1, 2, and 3) which are held annually.
4. Broadcasting. This division has three subdivisions: Research, General Assistance, and Media Opinions. This division ensures that Islamic broadcasts are well conveyed to the Muslim students at FCS through bulletins, wall magazines, Islamic studies, and books on Islam available at the Al-Adab Library.
5. Networking. This division is meant to build relations between KMIB and other organizations, particularly dakwah institutions within and without UGM.
6. Muslimah. This division accommodates the interests of Muslim students through numerous programs, including Routine Muslim Research (KARIMAH), Days of Jilbab and Koko (DJISKO), the Muslim bulletin Milismu, and annual Mother’s Day ceremonies.
